Of them 5,185 are active duty, 1,1104 are Air Force Reservists, 870 are Air National Guard and 5,5525 are civilians. Scott A.F.B. Aero Club! - The club's fleet consists of Cessna 152, 172, 182TR, a Symphony, a Piper Warrior as well as a twin engine Piper Seminole. All are available for local or cross-country flights and TDY flights. The Aero Club's flight school is FAA Part 141 certified. Programs range from Private Pilot to Airline Transport Pilot. A computerized trainer is also available for training and keeping pilots proficient under Instrument Flight Rules. The club is also a CATS testing facility when you are ready for your FAA Written Exam. The club offers Introductory Flights for $65, a great way to get a feel of the Scott Areo Club program in addition to getting an aerial view of the surrounding areas. Loan Closet -(618) 256-3616 - All personnel arriving at Scott are invited to come to Family Services at 404 W. Martin St. in the Scott Community Center. Volunteers are on duty Monday though Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., excluding federal holidays. They have base maps and other useful information for newcomers. Family Services has a supply of essential cooking and eating utensils and small electrical appliance for short term loan. Irons, ironing boards, pack n'plays, high chairs, flip out mats and air beds for sleeping, tables and chairs may also be borrowed. They have many items to make your transition to Scott smoother. Military members should bring a copy of their PCS or TDY orders if they wish to borrow items.
